  • FSSA - Indiana Eligibility Modernization Project (IEMP)

    In 2006, Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) division created history when they awarded an effort to modernize the eligibility system for a record 1.4 Billion Dollars. This effort involved setting up Call Centers and Service Centers throughout the state to enable qualified residents of Indiana to register for TANF, SNAP, Medicaid, Childcare assistance, employment and training services in an easier and effective way while reducing fraudulent claims.


    Major accomplishments on this project includes

    • Provide real-time call handling performance statistics for local offices and regional change centers to the project sponsor, key stakeholders, and regional managers, enabling management to make immediate corrective actions
    • Designed and implemented a reporting database to be the one-stop solution for the entire project's reporting needs. ETL programs were created to load the daily data from call center, document center, service center, and Indiana Client Eligibility System (ICES) and more programs will be added as new requirements come.
    • Provide reports to track the performance and productivity of caseworkers. This data is used to promote a better allocation of resources and provide timely benefits to the clients.
    • Provide task volume data to the state and vendors, created trend charts and performed trend analysis and trend task backlogging.
    • Designed logical data models and physical databases and database objects for DB2 UDB on development, test, user acceptance, and production environments. Monitored and reported database activities like health monitoring, traffic, data loads and batch jobs in databases on a 24/7 routine to the management team.

  • FSSA - Data Warehouse - Also known as Welfare Reform Integrated Database (WRIDB).

    Funded by the federal government, this project provides comprehensive reports to the federal government for state spending on various family welfare programs. It collects and tracks data from 16 welfare programs including TANF, SNAP, Medicaid, HIP, CHIP, IMPACT, and Childcare Assistance. Collected data is cleansed and standardized using IBM’s Quality Stage and then transformed and loaded into the warehouse. Source systems providing data to warehouse include ICES, ISETS, and ICWIS.


    Major accomplishments on this project includes

    • Provide technical expertise in design and building the data warehouse. Participated in configuration management meetings, change management meetings, and JAD sessions to advise the management on the technology. Discussed with the management on the project risks and plans to mitigate risks.
    • Helped the client in planning te implementation and conversion from mainframe legacy system to IBM’s new ETL platform, Datastage. Created coding standards document and advised the team regarding the best coding practices and mentor developers.
    • Monitor, fix, and report production issues. Made sure the reports are generated and submitted to the federal government as per the plan.
    • Worked with the management and business team to maximize the claims from the federal government for the expenditures by the state government on various programs to help Indiana residents.

  • Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) - KidTraks

    • Participated in the technical design meetings, advised management on the technical design, and provided technical expertise to design and develop custom applications.
    • Designed and developed of reporting system using SSRS and Crystal reports.
    • Designed and developed request/proposal system, contract management system, referral and placement system, and accounts payable and accounts receivable system.

  • Indiana Department of Child Services (DCS) - Management Gateway for Indiana Kids (MaGIK)

    MaGIK is Indiana’s new child welfare tracking system and case management system. It will put DCS into the 21st century with interactive, web-based capability and will make Indiana the site of the premier child protection case management system in the country.


    Major accomplishments on this project includes

    • Provided technical expertise in the overall system design/development and a smooth transition from legacy child welfare system to new web-based system, MaGIK (Management Gateway for Indiana's Kids)
    • Provided weekly status reports focussed on work performed by the team and reviewed weekly deliverables with the management. Kept the management informed about risks and plans to manage risks.
    • Provided 24/7 support for existing system and research, production issue escalation, code review, and mentor new team members.
    • Provided all the business scenarios to be incorporated in the design. Prepared test plan, test cases, perform testing, document the test results, and communicate major milestones to management.

  • Office of Indiana Attorney General

    The Office of the Indiana Attorney General helps protect the rights, freedoms and safety you enjoy as a citizen of the Hoosier state.


    Major accomplishments on this project includes

    • Ongoing support of technical Design and Development of IndianaUnclaimed.com.
    • Develop an iPhone and Android app which integrates with the main system and users can search and claim their unclaimed property.
    • Report tasks status to the management on weekly basis and provide them with the estimation of tasks currently being worked on.

  • Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV)

    BMV operates full-service license branches, customer service locations and 24/7 online service to all Indiana residents. It offers Driver Licenses, Identification Cards, Plates & Registration and vehicle Titles.


    State Tracking and Record System (STARS)

    STARS is used by all license branches in the State of Indiana to issue or renew Driver Licenses, vehicle Plates & Registration, Title Insurance, etc.


    myBMV (www.myBMV.com)

    It's an online tool to renew a State of Indiana resident's driver License, ID card and Vehicle Registration & Titles.


    Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE for Department of Homeland Security)

    This is an intergovernmental initiative designed to aid benefit granting agencies in determining an applicant's immigration status and there by ensures only entitled applicants receive federal, state or local public benefits and licenses.


    Secure ID Implementation

    This innovation provides protection against fraud, identity theft, underage drinking and smoking, all while saving millions of dollars. It's another step towards protecting Hoosiers.


    Major accomplishments on this project includes

    • Ongoing support of technical Design and Development of DHS-SAVE, Inventory Management, Secure ID implementation, State Tracking & Record System and myBMV.
    • Design and Development of Active Directory based Security project.
    • Discuss with management on project status, risks and on latest technologies available.

  • Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) - Woman Infants and Children (WIC)

    WIC is a nutrition program, nationally recognized as an effective means for improving access to nutritious foods and promoting healthier eating and lifestyles. The Indiana WIC Program currently serves over 175,000 women, infants, and children each month through a statewide network of 150 WIC clinics. Indiana WIC supports $117 million in food sales at more than 770 Indiana WIC-authorized grocery stores and pharmacies.


    Major accomplishments on this project includes

    • Create management reports that made the decision making process easier for the management team and enhance the ability to take corrective actions. Provide them with task status, advices on project risks and plans.
    • Integrate the Agency Contract Invoicing System with the Indiana State's PeopleSoft system which streamline the payment process and expedited payments to vendors by saving 25% time. This avoids the late payment charges incurred on the State.
    • Converted the manual Annual Grants Entry and Approval system into a user friendly and robust web based system with ASP.net and AJAX which drastically dropped data entry time by 30%. This made the system go paperless and also the approval process improved with system generated emails and reminders at different stages of approvals.

  • Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) - Immunization  

    CHIRP is Indiana’s Immunization Registry  where Healthcare providers, Pharmacies, Schools and Parents can access and manage Immunization records. Chirp incorporates federally funded Vaccine for Children (VFC) program by providing vaccines free of cost for children younger than 19 years of age. 70% data in Chirp are imported through HL7 (Health Level Seven International - version 2.3.1 and 2.5.1) accounts from Health Information Exchange’s (HIE) and Electronic Medical Record’s (EMR).

    Vaccine Order Management System (VOMS) -  is a new online Order management tool available to providers who are eligible to place VFC orders. This tool provides Inventory management, Accountability verification and generate reports for administered vaccines.

    School Nurse Module - Schools use Chirp to create rosters for each school year, validates their student population for compliance with Indiana’s school immunization requirements.

    AFIX is federally initiated clinical decision support for immunizations (CDSi) program by CDC to improve national Immunization Coverage rates by incorporating best practices for both Public and Private providers.

    PHC-HUB is an add-on platform for CHIRP that facilitates processing of HL7 messages.  Incoming HL7 messages are extracted and data is validated, translate coded values and update host system (CHIRP) database with patient and immunization data.

    Vaccination Forecast is a clinical decision support for immunizations (CDSi) tool available to providers to look at vaccines that the patient are due, past due or up to date.

    Mirth Channel is incorporated as a communication tool. All mass communication to providers and healthcare professionals related to Chirp registry is through Mirth Channel.


    Brite Systems Accomplishments 

    • Setup entire Development and Test environment within ISDH for each of the above applications.
    • Set up entire QA and Production server environment by collaborating with Office of Technology (OTC) and  Indiana Office of Technology (IOT)
    • Design and implement code that are Indiana specific to Chirp Registry.
    • Design, develop and implement customized reports specific to Immunization Program needs.
    • Build and Deploy enterprise J2EE application on Cluster load balanced servers.
    • Extensively involved in Migration of Oracle database from 11g to 12c.
    • Security related issues identified by IOT standards using Netscaler were resolved.
    • Extensively collaborated with IOT in migrating the server environment from Physical to virtual servers.
    • Currently working on implementing Single sign-on for all the above applications
    • Provide 24/7 support for Immunization related applications.

  • Arizona Department of Health Services - Woman Infants and Children (WIC)

    WIC is a nutrition program, nationally recognized as an effective means for improving access to nutritious foods and promoting healthier eating and lifestyles. WIC automation system has yielded significant benefits to the State & local agencies by reducing the cost but increasing the participation and improving delivery of services.


    Major accomplishments on this project includes

    • Design & Development of web application and provided solutions to maintaining WIC records, including enrollment, certification to State food packages & eligibility & food. Web application testing, bug fixes, enhancements and maintenance.
    • Status reporting, project risk evaluation and suggesting risk mitigation plans. Providing guidance to management on task planning and estimation.

  • City of Cleveland, Ohio - Cleveland Division of Water (CWD)

    This is a billing application for the Cleveland Division of Water. It's the responsibility of our team to ensure the system (Oracle Customer Care and Billing) works accurately and the system performs 99% of the time.


    Major accomplishments on this project includes

    • Supporting the development team with the environment, data for testing and required technical advice.
    • Install and architect the Oracle Customer Care & Billing (CC&B) and Oracle Databases in various environments. Resolve complex performance delays in the database and worked closely with the client and developers to ensure smooth operations.
    • Provide 24/7 support in the Production environment, resolve issues, plan for system outages, advice and kept the management informed.

  • Department of Labor (Bureau of labor statistics (BLS))-Consumer Price Index (CPI)

    The Consumer Price Index program produces monthly data on changes in the prices paid by urban consumers for a representative basket of goods and services. This system is 24/7 and executing, scheduling different jobs onto different machines becomes critical.


    Major accomplishments on this project includes

    • Ongoing Design and Development work, testing, mentoring new team members, research potential issues and fix the uncovered issues.
    • Help management by providing weekly status reports, identify & plan to manage project risks. Discuss with business tem to incorporate required changes in the software.
    • Design, plan and modify software to help project to migrate from Sybase to Oracle environment.

  • Indiana University – FSSA First Steps data collection

    The Indiana Institute on Disability and Community, Indiana’s University Center for Excellence in Disabilities, has fostered a foundation of excellence for community investment in developmental disabilities since 1970. Brite Systems partnered with IU institute on disability and community to enhance their data collection process for State of Indiana, Family Social Service Administration(FSSA) First Steps program evaluation project.


    Major accomplishments on this project includes

    • Brite Systems designed and developed a web based application to complete an exit survey for child assessment and family information  for FSSA First Steps program evaluation project using Microsoft  ASP.Net, .Net 4.5 Framework , Entity Framework 6.0, Javascript, Jquery 2.0 and Twitter Bootstrap 3.0.

Private Sector

  • JPMorgan Chase - Centralized Production Reporting (CPR)

    CPR is one of the biggest data warehouses sourced by the largest CRM (Peregrine Service Center) used within the JPMorgan Chase Employees and different level of teams all over the world.


    Major accomplishments on this project includes

    • Ongoing design and development of Cognos Dashboard and reports. Create High Level Design (HLD) documents, Low Level Design (LLD) documents, peer reviews and discuss with the management team.
    • Discuss with the users and the business team to define Business KPI's (Key performance indicators) and Metrics. Monitor, Review and Trend these KPI's with the users.
    • Automate Reports and Scorecards to distribute to the several production support teams/groups which are intended to alert then to resolve the tickets/incidents on time by measuring the Service Level Agrrement (SLA) % or other metrics derived with organization standards and which will improve the effectiveness of the team.
    • Develop and provide teams performance & assignment progress reports to the management.

  • CenturyLink - Embarq Data Conversion

    As a result of the merger of Embarq and CenturyTel to become CenturyLink serving 7.5 million customers in 33 states. The project involved converting 7.5 million customer's data into one seamless billing and ordering system.


    Major accomplishments on this project includes

    • Helped the client with their major data conversion effort due to the merger with Embarq. This conversion was divided into 5 markets and amounted to about 7.5 million customers being converted to the Ensemble Billing and Ordering System.
    • Suggested and successfully implemented changes to CSM billing system to reduce billing errors.
    • Analyzed potential production issues and resolved them before they occurred.

  • CenturyLink- Ensemble Telcordia Integration

    The merger between Qwest and CenturyLink, created a high capacity fiber network that spans the US from coast to coast. Overall effort involved is to modify CenturyLink billing system software, perform existing Qwest data conversion to be able to merge into CenturyLink data and to create a single billing system.


    Major accomplishments on this project includes

    • Integrated the CenturyLink billing system with the Qwest provisioning system by re-writing the software. This simplified the data conversion effort and also resulted in having all the customer's data under a single uniform billing system.

  • WellPoint - Federal Employees Program (FEP)

    Anthem BlueCross BlueShield contacted to provide a web based user interface for the federal employees to receive the maximum beneficial plan for their health insurance and allowed them to review the pension plans. We helped merge and connect them directly to the vendor companies like CVS pharmacy, Walgreens, Walmart etc.


    Major accomplishments on this project includes

    • Design & Development of a web application detailing health insurance plans available for federal employees and providing them details about what their vendor companies had to offer.
    • Web application testing, bug fixes, enhancements and maintenance.
    • Provide guidance to the management on task planning and estimation. Status reporting, risk identification and suggesting risk mitigation plans.

  • Midwest ISO

    The Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator, Inc. (MISO) is an Independent System Operator (ISO) and the Regional Transmission Organization (RTO) that provides open-access transmission service and monitors the high voltage transmission system throughout the Midwest United States and Manitoba, Canada. MISO operates one of the world's largest real-time energy markets and has 93,600 miles of transmission lines under its control.


    Major accomplishments on this project includes

    • Designing and implementing a new Audit Management system. The new system was integrated with the core compliance system and the time to generate a binder was drastically reduced. The time to generate a binder was taking 15 hours and it was reduced to 5 minutes.
