The Database Administrator‘s role is to design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance tune production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability. This individual will also coordinate with the Senior Database Administrator for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software. Position reports to Senior Database Administrator.
Responsibilities: • Monitor and optimize daily performance • Create and monitor scheduled jobs • Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures, and definitions for the data dictionary. • Controlling access permissions and privileges • Creation of indexes for performance optimization • Proficiency with T-SQL language • Capacity planning Qualifications: • Five years experience in Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008 database administration/development required. • Data Warehouse experience would be helpful. • Experience with Compuware’s suite of products a plus.
